This prestigious distinction was granted through an official resolution issued by the Cuban institution\u2019s president.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text-build-content\">The award was presented during the Second Convention on University, Physical Activity, and Sports (UNAFID 2024), held October 21\u201325 at UCCFD\u2019s campus in Havana, Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>UNAM\u2019s Office of University Sports (DGDU) received the distinction in a ceremony led by UCCFD President Silvano Merced Len.<\/p>\n<p>For the second year in a row, UNAM\u2019s athletics program made valuable contributions to the convention with two featured presentations: <em>\u201cProgrammatic Trends in University Sports 2023\u20132027\u201d<\/em> (<em>Tendencia program\u00e1tica en el deporte universitario 2023\u20132027<\/em>), presented by Alejandro Fern\u00e1ndez Varela Jim\u00e9nez, and <em>\u201cTheoretical and Practical Foundations of Sports Judging and Refereeing\u201d<\/em> (<em>Bases te\u00f3rico-pr\u00e1cticas del jueceo y arbitraje deportivo<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The convention brought together representatives from over 12 countries, establishing itself as a leading platform for the global exchange of knowledge in sports science.<\/p>\n<p>This distinguished recognition underscores UNAM\u2019s profound impact on sports development and its dedication to fostering international collaboration, further cementing its role as a global leader in physical education and sports sciences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The University of Physical Culture and Sports Sciences of Cuba (UCCFD) awarded UNAM its 50th Anniversary Commemorative Seal, recognizing the university\u2019s excellence in sports science education and research, as well as its strong collaborative ties with UCCFD.
