Rincón UNAM Expands to the Philippines
A new Rincón UNAM has been inaugurated at the Library of the College of Arts and Letters at the University of the Philippines (UP), Diliman campus. The space offers the Philippine academic community access to UNAM’s extensive digital resources, spanning nearly every field of knowledge.
The initiative, led by UNAM’s China campus (Center for Mexican Studies), aims to expand the University’s presence in the region and promote its academic, scientific, and cultural contributions.
The opening ceremony was attended by academic leaders from the College of Arts and Letters, including Dean Jimmuel Naval; Roselle Pineda, Associate Dean for Research, Creative Work and Publication; and Marlon James Sales, Graduate Program Coordinator, who oversaw the installation of the Rincón UNAM. They were joined by Elvira Lápuz, University Librarian at the UP, and Jocelyn Basa, Head Librarian of the College.
Dean Naval noted that the launch of this space marks the beginning of a deeper collaboration between the University of the Philippines and UNAM.
Later, during UP’s Study Abroad Fair, a session was held to showcase UNAM’s academic programs. Adalberto Noyola, Director of the Center for Mexican Studies of UNAM in China, gave a virtual presentation from Beijing to faculty members and students.
