MEXICO AND GERMANY STRENGTHEN EARTH SCIENCES COLLABORATION
The Institute of Geophysics at UNAM recently hosted University of Munich representatives to explore academic partnerships with German institutions.
The meeting aimed to promote student and faculty mobility in volcanology and other geophysical disciplines, establishing collaborative networks for knowledge-sharing, resource access, and shared laboratory use between Mexico and Germany.
“This is an ideal time for young researchers to tackle their questions and find solutions through international collaboration,” said IGF researcher Hugo Delgado.
According to Beatriz Ortega Guerrero, Director of the National School of Earth Sciences, including both undergraduate and graduate students in these programs creates new opportunities for academic development, helping them broaden their horizons through international experience.
Donald B. Dingwell from the University of Munich presented various options for academic stays in Germany. Several students also shared their experiences abroad, encouraging others to consider international opportunities as key to their professional development.
