Coordinated Health Approach Between the U.S., Cuba, and Mexico

This collaboration was agreed upon by UNAM’s President, Leonardo Lomelí Vanegas; the Chair of the Board of Directors of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Gilda A. Barabino; the President of the Cuban Academy of Sciences, Luis Velázquez Pérez; and the Director General of the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (Cinvestav) of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), Alberto Sánchez Hernández.

At the meeting, titled “Opportunities for U.S.-Cuba-Mexico Collaboration in Public Health,” participants decided that the three countries would exchange scientific expertise to promote “One Health” among their populations, a fair, equitable, and comprehensive approach to healthcare.
