UNAM Team Wins First Place in Santander X

The UNAM students’ project was judged to be the best in the competition and aims to facilitate connectivity in the face of natural disasters such as hurricanes, forest fires, or earthquakes.

The system operates via a satellite band, capable of sending and receiving critical data including precise locations, resource requirements, information on individuals’ conditions, and medical reports when telecommunications infrastructure is severely compromised. This prestigious award grants UNAM students entry into the international finals of the Santander X Global Challenge, set to take place in Europe.
