Strengthening Programs to Benefit Mexican Communities in the U.S.

UNAM-Chicago, through its Office of International Affairs (CRAI), is strengthening its collaboration with Mexico’s consular network in the Midwest to serve the region’s community.

Health Conversations with UNAM Experts, a bimonthly program in partnership with UNAM’s School of Medicine and the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago, provides medical and scientific insights to communities across the Midwest through various diplomatic missions.

Recent sessions featured María Guadalupe Ponciano, who discussed the public health impact of nicotine use, and Diana Guadalupe Ruiz Velasco, who explored family sexuality and relationships.

UNAM-Chicago hosted a presentation on its Distance Learning High School Program as part of the Seventh Binational Education Week. Guadalupe Vadillo, a keynote speaker, showcased the program’s two decades of success in providing accessible education to students in Mexico and abroad.

These initiatives reflect UNAM’s commitment to enhancing educational and healthcare outreach while strengthening its support for Mexican communities living outside the country.
