UNAM Expands Digital Learning to China
UNAM is expanding its international reach by offering its Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in China through a new partnership with XuetangX, the learning platform of Tsinghua University.
The collaboration will make Mexican academic content available to students across China and Asia, supporting UNAM’s goals for educational innovation and international exchange.
During the Beijing launch event, representatives introduced the first ten courses, with Personal Finance and Financial Mathematics among the featured programs. Norman Wolf, the course instructor, presented the course content and shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity to connect with Chinese students.
Anabel de la Rosa Gómez, who heads UNAM’s Open University and Digital Education program (CUAED), explained that the partnership creates opportunities for international academic collaboration beyond just making courses accessible.
Wang Shuaiguo, head of Tsinghua University’s Online Education Center, highlighted the significance of the agreement: ”Adding UNAM’s MOOCs to our platform is a major step forward, giving millions of Chinese students access to high-quality education and broader academic opportunities.”
