APPLICATIONS OPEN FOR UNAM ONLINE HIGH SCHOOL

The Open University and Distance Education Coordination (CUAED) and the Institute for Mexicans Abroad are pleased to announce the opening of the 2025-II application period for UNAM’s Online High School Program (B@UNAM), an initiative designed to provide high-quality secondary education to Mexicans and Spanish speakers abroad.

Since its establishment in 2007, B@UNAM has empowered 1,592 students to complete their high school education through this flexible learning model.

During the program’s presentation, Ivonne Ramírez, Director of UNAM’s General Office of School Administration, emphasized that graduates are automatically eligible for admission to continue their studies at the university. Guadalupe Vadillo, the program’s director, highlighted the critical role of strategic partnerships in the program’s growth and its positive impact on the Spanish-speaking community.

Francisco de la Torre, Consul General of Mexico in Dallas, emphasized that the initiative benefits students and strengthens migrant communities.

Similarly, Reyna Torres Mendivil, Consul General of Mexico in Chicago, underscored the importance of the consular network and collaborations with Mexican institutions in expanding educational access. Anabel de la Rosa, Director of CUAED, reaffirmed UNAM’s commitment to continuously enhancing the program to maintain its quality and relevance.

This educational model offers students flexibility and support, allowing them to balance their studies with other responsibilities. By promoting online education, B@UNAM contributes to greater educational equity and helps prepare students for future challenges.
