MEXICO MAKES THE TOP 10 IN GLOBAL HAPPINESS RANKING

Mexico ranked tenth out of 147 countries in the 2025 World Happiness Report, released by the United Nations in celebration of the International Day of Happiness, which is observed on March 20 each year.

Roberto Castellanos Cereceda, a professor at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences (FCPyS), contributed to the report. He highlighted Mexico’s significant rise, moving up 15 spots from the 2024 edition.

Félix Candela’s Legacy on Display in Romania

On Thursday, March 13, the exhibition Félix Candela: Function, Form, and Elegance of Concrete Shells opened at the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urban Planning (UAUIM) in Bucharest.

This traveling exhibition honors the renowned Mexican-Spanish architect and continues its international tour, celebrating his legacy in modern architecture.

Glaciers in Mexico and across the globe have reached a critical stage, and immediate action is needed to preserve them.

To raise awareness, the United Nations has declared March 21 World Day for Glaciers, to be observed alongside World Water Day on March 22.

 Mental Health Platform Highlights Migrants’ Struggles

Four out of ten migrants show signs of acute stress and anxiety, and two out of ten experience depression, according to early findings from Acción UNAM: Espíritu en Acción Migrante, a digital mental health platform developed by the university.

Launched on February 17, the platform recently released its first report, Commission for Mental Health Care: Migrations of Permanence, Return, Transit, and Destination, which recorded 198 users registered on the app.

Mexico–Ecuador–Peru Academic Exchange Deepens Community Engagement

The School of Architecture (FA) at UNAM hosted the Tenth International Academic Exchange between Mexico, Ecuador, and Peru. The program was inaugurated by Faculty Dean Mónica Cejudo Collera, Guillermina Rosas, academic coordinator of the exchange at FA, and Jaime Guerra, academic coordinator from the University of Cuenca, Ecuador.

This initiative aims to strengthen the connection between academia and local communities by using exchange programs as an alternative pedagogical model in architecture, urbanism, and landscape design.
